MEET THE COACH
Head Coach - Sarfraz Yousaf
Meet Sarfraz Yousaf, a lifelong martial artist who began his training at the young age of 6 in kickboxing. By the age of 18, he transitioned to honing his skills as an amateur boxer, dedicating himself to the sport. At 25, Sarfraz ventured into the realms of MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, achieving noteworthy success with a silver medal in the British championships, as well as gold and bronze in competitions like Hereford and Gracie Barra Compnet. His undefeated streak in amateur MMA was an impressive testament to his dedication and skill. Despite facing adversity with a knee injury that involved a complete ACL, PCL, MCL, and LCL, Sarfraz remains resilient, continuing his training in MMA, BJJ, and incorporating freestyle wrestling under the guidance of world-class coaches like Alibeig Vechodev from Dagestan. Currently mentored by the renowned Iranian coach Ashkan Taherkhani, Sarfraz Yousaf stands as an inspiration, demonstrating unwavering commitment to his craft.

Ashkan Taherkhani, a distinguished member of the Iranian national wrestling team, boasts a remarkable record with numerous victories in competitions throughout Iran. Holding a high rank in his division and achieving a commendable 3rd place in Asia, Ashkan brings a wealth of expertise to SAF Mixed Martial Arts. As an accomplished competitor, he not only continues to actively participate in competitions but also dedicates himself to nurturing the next generation of champions through his role as a coach. At SAF MMA, Ashkan Taherkhani is instrumental in shaping a team of future champions, contributing his invaluable knowledge and skills to the growth and success of our martial arts community.
